
Mr. Jordan serves as Of Counsel to Grasso PLLC. Formerly Counsel at Alston & Bird, Mr. Jordan’s practice involves patent prosecution, client counseling and litigation. He has served as outside counsel for leaders in the electronics, medical device and telecommunications industries, and as in-house counsel for a major microprocessor manufacturer, where he managed the mobile platforms IP portfolio and conducted in-depth patent analysis for licensing negotiations and related transactions. His counseling experience has involved responding to cease and desist letters, rendering opinions on patent validity and infringement, and conducting due diligence reviews for licensing, purchasing and pre-filing investigation purposes.
Mr. Jordan also has substantial experience in all phases of domestic and foreign patent prosecution, including reexamination proceedings. He has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in the electrical, mechanical, software, biomedical and consumer product technologies for many years, and has successfully appealed several cases to the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences. Mr. Jordan has dealt with deep brain stimulation electrodes, patient and clinician programmers, catheter electrodes, automated tissue staining instruments, radio frequency identifier (RFID), wireless networks, electronics design, onboard diagnostics, optical networking architectures, ground fault circuit interrupters, semiconductor packaging, brain stimulation electrodes and a host of other technologies.
Mr. Jordan received his J.D., with honors, from The College of William & Mary in 1999, where he was a member of the Moot Court Bar. He received his B.S. in electrical engineering in 1994 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He is a member of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia, the State Bar of Maryland, and the State Bar of Michigan, and is admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Mr. Jordan is also admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Jordan is a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
